Ontario Heartland Chorus wins Gold!

With just 17 singers on stage, Ontario Heartland Chorus (OHC), a chapter of Sweet Adelines, won First Place in Division A of a regional competition. Division A represents the small chorus division, with between 15-31 members appearing on stage. Sweet Adelines, Region 16 held its annual chorus and quartet competition in Syracuse April 14-16, 2016.

“It’s still sinking in,” said Val, a newer member of the chorus. Last year Ontario Heartland Chorus earned 5th place in Division A. In 2016, OHC also won the medal for Most Improved Chorus, sharing that honour with Image City Chorus of Rochester, NY, whose score improved by the same number of points.

LAVISH! Quartet wins Most Improved

Congratulations to our chorus members Rachel, Jennifer, Kristen and Deborah, also known as LAVISH! on winning Sweet Adelines Region 16 award for Most Improved Quartet. After their performance, audience members familiar with the quartet said they knew from the way LAVISH! walked on stage that there was a new level of skill and confidence about to be unleashed. OHC is very proud of our sisters in harmony on this important achievement.
